We need leaders with a nuanced understanding of how our minds and cultures affect both our decision making and our ability to create diverse and inclusive spaces. This workshop starts by providing a rationale for why leaders need to create equitable, diverse, and inclusive environments in order to excel in the 21^st century. Using interactive activities and applied examples, we explore the topics of mental associations, biases, decision making, and inclusive excellence. The workshop then offers an applied four-part model (the “PARM” method) that you can use to make better decisions, create inclusive spaces, and connect more with those around you. We will end with a short discussion on the implications of these topics to Cabarrus County.
